The Mrs. Carter Tour

Honnnnnaaaayyyyy!!!!!  I have never seen Kang Bey live and tomorrow night I will FINALLY get the chance.  I am not a stan by a long shot, but she is the consummate performer and and I know I will probably lose my voice singing “Love On Top.”  I am staying off my newsfeed tonight because she is here in DC doing two shows and I want to be surprised.

How Blessed I Am

Today was my orientation at the new job, and y’all…….where do I start?  First of all, I was ten types of frazzled because I have never driven to Rosslyn, where my training was and I ended up in DC for a hot second.  Thank God for being a military brat, because growing up my dad had a rule that you ALWAYS show up 15-30 minutes early.  When I got to the hotel where the orientation was being held, I was a frazzled ass mess.  I was worried about my car being towed, I had to deal with THE RUDEST hotel manager ever (in regards to free parking, she told me if it was full, that I would need to just “feed the meter for the next eight hours” and on top of that I forgot my direct deposit form.  Thank God for the Generalist who walked me back to the front desk and got the parking straightened out and got me to a direct deposit form.  Once I got all that out of the way the day was smooth sailing.  There were some really nice people at my table, and I won a big ass umbrella and reusable bag.  The icing on the cake was lunch.  I am used to going to these types of things and having to eat a very sad looking lunch, however…….I WAS EATING ON THE 17TH FLOOR!!!!!  The view was AMAZING……I was able to see all of Georgetown while I ate grilled salmon and salad and I had a moment.  Two years ago I was selling my plasma and using unemployment to stay afloat and today I was in a deluxe apartment in the sky (I had to do it).  That moment made every single heartache, hard time and upset worth it.  I wouldn’t change a thing about the past because it brought me to that moment.  For those that want to know….yes….I had to go outside a cry, lol.

E-Book Writing

All I can stay is stay tuned…..when I go on into Glory, I don’t want anyone to tell my story but me.

No New Friends Is Bullshit

I’m sorry, but you can’t keep everyone.  I have been doing a lot of thinking lately, and I have been taking inventory of some my “friends.”  As, I have mentioned, before I love to hoard my friendships, but at the age of 32, I have FINALLY learned, everyone ain’t your friend.  I can count on one hand the amount of “old friends” that I really feel are genuine.

Closed Mouths Don’t Get Fed

After playing “just the tip” with the homebuying experience, I yelled YOLO (don’t come for me) and threw down my offer.  The house is a foreclosure that has been on the market FOREVER and I am hoping the bank just says, “Gon’ give it to her!”  I have let fear rule this process and today when my agent asked me what I wanted to do, I just went for it.  I’ll keep you all posted
